Polarity Smart Bikes’ first e-bike spotted testing
Polarity Smart Bikes, a Pune-based startup is all set to enter the market with their e-bike. And before you dismiss this as just another cycle plonked with an electric motor, you might want to know the details.
We spotted the prototypes and though the pedals and bicycle like frame make it look like a regular e-bicycle, it is nothing like what we have in our market. Polarity claims the e-bike can achieve a top speed of 100kmph. And with a claimed range of 80km, this e-bike will be FAME II compliant. With these numbers, we don’t expect this e-bike to have a 250W motor like the other e-bicycles in our market.
Polarity Smart Bikes has equipped the e-bike with premium equipments like inverted forks, LED illumination including the indicators. It also gets motorcycle-like switchgear, a LCD instrument cluster and inverted forks for the front with a gas-charged monoshock at the rear.
With all the premium hardware, the Polarity e-bike will be priced at around Rs 80,000 in our country. There are a few e-bikes available, though none of them exceed a speed of 30kmph and have equipment or range like Polarity promises. Stay tuned to know about the launch details.
