Automobili Pininfarina showcase the updated Pininfarina Battista at Turin Auto Show

Automobili Pininfarina revealed its first-ever standalone production model, the stunning all-electric hypercar Battista at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, which took the center stage. Besides that, it is the most powerful car ever to come from Italy and it will be sold globally. And now, it has got an update from the luxury electric hypercar maker, Automobili Pininfarina, which will be presented during the 2019 Turin Outdoor Auto Show this week.

Automobili Pininfarina say that the Battista has a motor for each wheel that jointly deliver up to 1900bhp power which is good enough for a 0-100kmph in sub-2 seconds, and 300kmph in less than 12 seconds with a top speed of 349kmph.

An extensive development program with simulated aero testing has resulted in the new aerodynamics of the hypercar. The Battista hasn’t got a significant update, but after comparing it to the prototype that was shown in the Geneva Motor Show and the new version here, you will see the difference is in the lower bumper section at the front and the air intakes.

“We are really proud of the Battista and very happy to see the car at our home auto show in Turin,” Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman at Pininfarina S.p.A, comments. “The design teams at Pininfarina and Automobili Pininfarina worked hard together to present a work of art at Geneva this year. But we never stop aiming for perfection in car design, so are pleased to be able to add design details to the front surfaces that, I believe, reinforce the Battista’s elegance and beauty.”

Luca Borgogno, Design Director, Automobili Pininfarina, said, “It is incredibly exciting to be presenting the Battista in Turin and near to its home in Cambiano. Since its debut at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, the Battista has stunned audiences all around the world with its beauty and purity of design. I am pleased to be presenting it with these latest masterstrokes that make the form of the car even more beautiful and elegant, and true to Pininfarina’s design principles.”

Shown here is the Pininfarina Battista in a Blu Iconica Battista color which will be on the display at the Turin Outdoor Auto Show until Sunday, the 23rd. After which the prototype will be undergoing the forthcoming stages of development which will take it through simulation testing, wind tunnel, first track tests supervised by none other than the ex-Formula 1 and Formula E driver Nick Heidfeld, who is currently Pininfarina’s Chief Development Driver.

Only 150 examples of the Battista will be produced out of which 50 are for Europe, 50 for North America and the next 50 for Middle East and Asia markets.
