Jaguar Land Rover go in all guns blazing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Jaguar and Land Rover will be leaving no stone unturned to up the excitement quotient, debuting a series of exciting new models at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. First on the list will be a camouflaged prototype of the Land Rover Defender, which will be displaying its on-road dynamic abilities to the test on the hill in the ‘First Glance’ batch, a precursor to the race events, twice daily.

Next, Jaguar has made commendable strides in electric mobility. So, to bring spectators up close and personal with the world’s first all-electric production-based international race car that’s part of the series supporting Formula E, Jaguar will also be showcasing the all-electric eTROPHY I-PACE race car for the first time at Goodwood.

But the excitement does not wane here, continuing with the recently-unveiled Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring Pack which Jaguar claims is their fastest road-legal car, with a 5-litre supercharged V8 making 592bhp! Also featuring in the First Glance batch will be the new Range Rover Velar SV Autobiography Dynamic, also running the same 5-litre V8, albeit in a different state of tune, making 543bhp.

But it’s not all a show-and-tell, with chances for visitors to experience the vehicles first-hand, either enjoying the ups and downs of Land Rover’s legendary off-road course in a Discovery or Range Rover or from the passenger seat of a rally-prepped Jaguar F-Type SVR going full-tilt on the handling course with British rally driver Jade Paveley at the wheel.

Speaking about the events planned, Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director, Rawdon Glover said that the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the brand’s largest event, and that they done their best to create an inviting space for customers to spend some time with the team as well as indulge experience the performance themselves, something which has proved incredibly popular with festival goers, adding that “I myself am particularly excited about seeing the new Defender testing on the hill, and I know our customers will love the thrill of a passenger ride in our Jaguar F-Type on our handling circuit or a Land Rover on the off-road course.”
