Pagani Huayra Roadster is out

Pagani revealed the Huayra Roadster recently, which is limited to a production run of only 100 units. And before the news even reached us, it was already sold out.

Based on the maniacal Huayra BC, the Roadster edition too gets the same Mercedes-AMG M168 V12 engine mated to a 7-speed AMT gearbox. On a chassis that is completely built using carbo-titanium, limiting the weight to just 1280kg (almost the same as the Octavia TSI), 760bhp and 737Nm makes for quite a lot of power. In an unusual case, it is lighter than the coupe variant by over 80kg, which is an achievement in itself. As a result, Pagani claims that you may experience 1.8Gs of lateral acceleration, highest for any road car being produced today. The 0-100kmph timing has not been mentioned as of yet, but expect it to hover between 2.7 to 3 seconds.

Paganis are known for their detailing and the Huayra Roadster comes as no surprise. The roof mechanism comes with split sections – a removable carbonfibre hard top and a glass element to give you the Targa look. There is also a removable fibre roof offered as an option which can be stored in the boot.

The Roadster also gets additional four flaps, two in the front and two at the rear for improved aerodynamics along with a front active suspension for even better road manners. Even the underbody is completely flat for better air flow. Pirelli has specially developed P-Zero Corsa tyres for the Roadster to handle all the extra Gs and the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels house equally massive discs. The 380mm carbon ceramic Brembos come equipped with six calipers at the front and four calipers at the rear.

Unsurprisingly, the Huayra Roadster is priced at over GBP 2.28 million which roughly equates to Rs 19 crore. And to remind you again, all the examples have been sold out already.
