2017 Frankfurt Motor Show: Suzuki delights with the new Swift Sport

Team Evo India

Suzuki have taken the wraps off the 2018 Swift Sport that promises to be delightfully tasty as it is lighter and has a lower, wider stance; a genuine foray into the hot hatch arena. It also arrives in a striking yellow colour that will divide opinion, but we sure do love it.

The Swift Sport is powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder Boosterjet petrol engine that pumps out 140bhp and 230Nm of torque. Mated to it is a six-speed manual transmission that will put a smile on the enthusiast’s face. The Swift Sport has shed 80kg as it now tips the scales at 970 kilos. It is nearly 200 kilos lighter than the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and the Fiat Punto Abarth.

We hope that Suzuki India does manage to get this car to India as soon as possible, the  obvious choice through the Nexa brand.
