ASEAN Car Rally 2018 flagged off from Guwahati

The ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Car Rally was flagged off from Guwahati and will see participants drive Tata Hexas through Imphal, Mandalay, Bagan, Yangon, Bangkok, Vientiane and back. The rally is organised by North East Federation of International Trade (NEFIT) and it promotes trade between the south eastern countries.

The main objective of the rally is to activate against the Rhinoceros poaching and selling of the horns that are believed to be useful for medicinal purposes. The duration of the rally is 24 days and around 50 participants are taking part in the rally. The route through which the smuggling takes place will be traversed by the participants.

Commenting on Tata Motors’ partnership with the ASEAN Car Rally, Vivek Srivatsa, head of marketing, passenger vehicle business said, “We are delighted to partner with the coveted ASEAN Car Rally. The ASEAN car rally is a gruelling and adventurous one and carries an important social message of protecting the Rhinos of Assam. Our Tata HEXAs will be used in this rally and we are confident that it will be most suited for the toughest of terrains that the rally participants will cover in the next 3 weeks.
