Bajaj Auto commences production of their most powerful offering, the Bajaj Dominar. Production has commenced at the Chakan plant but what is unique about the Dominar is that it the first bike to roll out of production assembled by woman engineers working in the Chakan plant. The bike was initially showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo under the name of CS concept and then Bajaj announced that the bike will not carry the Pulsar name as the name was quickly changed to the Kratos and now Bajaj Auto has finally showcased the bike as the new Dominar.

The Bajaj Dominar rolling of the assembly line

Eric Vas, president of Bajaj Auto stated that “We are proud to announce this historic roll out at Chakan today with our all women assembly line. Our new bike will set new benchmarks in its segment. There is already a lot of buzz, anticipation and excitement about the bike and its features, price and name. However, all our patrons and bike enthusiasts will have to wait for some time, till we share details of the new offering during the launch next month.”

This is a special moment for Bajaj as 15 years ago they showcased the Pulsar brand, which has managed to dominate the budget sports motorcycle market since its launch in November 2001. With the launch of the Dominar around mid- December, Bajaj plans to capture the market just as the Pulsar has.
