Ford India has added some more bells and whistles to the Black Edition of the EcoSport that was launched a few months back, as the upcoming festive season is approaching.

The changes are cosmetic only, just like with the Black Edition. The range of accessories includes an all-new LED strip below the fog lamp bezel, ‘EcoSport’ decals, illuminated door sills and black seats with red stitching. The accessories can be fitted at the dealership itself and will be offered with the Black edition that gets cross roof bars, blackened grille, mirrors, roof rails and alloys. The total value of the accessories is Rs 37,894.

The Black Edition can be had with both, diesel and petrol options. The choices are, 1.5-litre diesel and 1-litre turbocharged petrol EcoBoost that can be had with the 5 speed manual gearbox option only and the 1.5-litre petrol that can be had with both, manual and 6-speed DCT gearbox choices. The 1.5-litre diesel unit makes 99bhp of power and 205Nm of torque, while the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol unit makes 110bhp and 140Nm. The lower capacity, 1-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol on the other hand makes 123bhp and 170Nm.

Ford India has been revising the prices of its line-up and also revamping the cars with several add-ons. The EcoSport has been doing well for the manufacturer since the reduction of the prices, although Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is still the dominant compact-SUV in the country.
