Lexus India held an event in Mumbai today to announce the launch of its entry level crossover, the NX300h. The launch is expected to happen in January but the company says that the prices will be in the range of Rs 60-65 lakh.

The NX300 facelift was showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show and we’ll be getting the same car in India. It gets the same engine from the ES 300h; the 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit combined with an electric motor churns out 202bhp and 213Nm. It’s mated to a CVT gearbox sending power to all four wheels.

In terms of equipment, the NX300H gets electrically operated rear seats, 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and HUD. The F Sport variant also gets paddle shifters and minute cosmetic changes, such as a mesh grille and other blackened panels. You also get 8 airbags and ABS as standard.

The NX300H will be available in Luxury and F Sport variants and will go up against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q5. However, it’s been brought to India as a CBU and thus the pricing is slightly on the higher side, as compared to the rest.
