New Hero Achiever 150 launched at Rs 61,800

The Hero Achiever 150 is launched at a sticker price of Rs. 61,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi), a step towards launching 15 new products in India before the end of the current fiscal year. Hero MotoCorp says that the motorcycle has been completely developed in India.

The new Achiever will be driven by a BS IV compliant 149.1cc TOD (Torque On Demand), single-cylinder 4-stroke engine, with maximum power of 13.4bhp @ 8000rpm and maximum torque of 12.8Nm @ 5000rpm, mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. This engine is also features Hero Motocorp’s i3S  ‘Idle Start Stop System’ technology.

The motorcycle will be available in three colors, Panther Metallic Black, Candy Blazing Red and Ebony Grey Metallic. The Achiever will come with first-in-class Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature, along with a disc brake option as well.

In addition to the standard Achiever, Hero MotoCorp have also launched a limited edition Achiever 150 to commemorate its cumulative production of 70 million two-wheelers. This exclusive motorcycle will sport a tricolor theme on it, and only 70 units will be produced. These 70 units share the same technical specifications with the standard Achiever. The Hero Achiever 150 will go up against the likes of Bajaj Discover 150 the Honda CB Unicorn 150.

Present at the launch, Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD and CEO, Hero MotoCorp said,“Over the years, we have continuously reinvented ourselves with the changing times to set new global benchmarks and cross several milestones. The 70 million cumulative production is special because this has been possible due to our sustained leadership performance. We are now gearing up for the next big milestone of 100 million cumulative production.”

After giving the Splendor 110 their i3S techniology, Hero MotoCorp also plan to launch the Passion Pro and the Super Splendor with i3S technology in the 100cc and 125cc category in the future. These bikes already dominate their segments (the Passion Pro has 65 per cent market share while the Super Splendor has 55 per cent market share) and only stand to grow with this feature.
