Pulsar 220F gets BS-IV compliant

Team Evo India

Bajaj has quietly slipped the BS-IV compliant variant of the Pulsar 135LS, 180 and 220F in the market. This is in interest of the BS-IV norms being implemented starting from April 2017.

The 220cc engine still makes the same amount of power, at 22bhp and 19Nm. Apart from being BS-IV compliant mechanicals, theere have been subtle changes made to the cosmetics. The exhaust pipe is now blackened, along with additional chrome bits on the body. The seat too is now softer, for better touring abilities and the instrument cluster too now gets backlit. The switchgear, instead of getting the amber illumination, now gets a full blue scheme. Even the alloys get colour coded decals, matching with the tank’s graphics.

Other than the 220F, the rest of the Bajaj Pulsar line-up too sees changes with the 135LS and the 180 now coming with BS IV compliant engines. The engine in the 135LS remains untouched, but the Pulsar 180 gets a new re-tuned unit that makes 17bhp and  14Nm of torque is which is 1bhp and 2Nm higher than the older variant. Along with additional power, the Pulsar 180 now gets an additional rear disc brake as an option, to add to the stopping power.  The BS IV compliant Pulsar 135LS and Pulsar 180 are now priced at and Rs. 60,178 and Rs. 79,545, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi) while the 220F costs an additional Rs 12,000 at Rs 91,201.
