Tesla’s long awaited crossover has finally been teased in its production avatar and as seen in the pictures, it gets no outside rear view mirrors. The Model Y is also based an all-new platform on which the future Teslas will be constructed.

Not much about the Model Y has been revealed yet. The crossover is expected to go into production by 2019-20. At the shareholder’s meet, Tesla also confirmed the update to Autopilot 1.0 with a massive jump that will set the version 2.0 rolling in, over-the-air. The carmaker also suggested that its next car is going to be a semi-truck, better known as a pick-up.

The Model Y is expected to be priced competitively for the mass markets and Tesla will be setting up an all-new manufacturing plant for the crossover and is expected to build over 20 gigafactories to manufacture batteries.
