Auto Expo 2016: Hero Xtreme 200S set for 2017 launch
Hero MotoCorp showcased their future plans for the upcoming years with their concept vehicles. The Hero Xf3r styling concept bike will be the basic underpinning for all the future Hero models above 250cc. The concept shows a rugged sculpted tank with an underseat upswept exhaust. The single-sided swing-arm as well as the upside-down fork on the front are something unique from the house of Hero.
Their Xtreme model however gets a new 200cc engine and will be named the Xtreme 200S. Close to 18 horses are developed from the single-cylinder 200cc engine with 17.2Nm of torque displaced. The bike will be aided by ABS and will sport a monoshock. The bike is slated for a 2017 launch. The twin colour graphics look cool and funky. There is however a straight seat instead of a split one like its proposed competitors.
Moving onto the Splendor, the most successful bike in the world gets a new 110cc tod engine in its latest iSmart avatar. The bike will be available in the market in a few months with the ‘tod’ (torque on demand) engine. The new motor helps in producing 9% more power and 12% more torque and is future emission regulation ready.
Hero also showcased their Duet-e concept scooter which utilizes the harnessing of electric energy. The scooter however is not production ready and is still in developmental phases.
