Honda has opened bookings for the updated City at Rs 21,000, before the car’s launch on February 14. The update is just a mid-life refresh and not a generational change.

Both the front and the rear of the Honda City have been given a mild nip and tuck for this model. The nose has been tweaked slighly with the addition of a thin chrome strip on the bottom of the grille. The headlamps have been made sharper and the bumper is reshaped as well. In fact, the top-of-the-line City will get full-LED headlamps and foglamps. The rear has been tweaked as well, with updated tail-lamps with LED inserts and a refreshed bumper. The top-trip car will get new alloys too.

While this car is not expected to have any mechanical changes, equipment on the inside is updated as well. The City gets a new touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and a mobile mirror feature. The engine options remain same as before, with a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The City is quite dated now and though always dominant in its class, it was losing ground to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The updated City will compete with the upcoming Verna update, the Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento, in addition to the Ciaz.
