2025 Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two special feature: Welcome to SV Track Attack
We’re on a mission to conquer India’s finest racetracks — The Madras International Circuit (MIC), CoASTT and the Kari Motor Speedway in the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two;
An SUV to the racetrack? Ridiculous! would be the most inappropriate thing to do, more so if the SUV in question is a Range Rover. Range Rovers sit at the absolute upper end of the luxury spectrum and pack genuine off-road capacity – they’re the type of cars that will take you to the ends of the Earth, cocooned in utter comfort. Serrated kerbs and chasing apexes are hardly their forte. Except, this is no ordinary Range Rover. This is the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two. And it was born for speed. Meet the very first SV Edition Two to land in India. We got it with precisely 1000km on the clock, the cabin thick with an intensely expensive new car smell. Its satin finish sunrise copper exterior, paired with twill carbon satin pack is stunning – a massively imposing shape that dropped jaws the entire time we drove it from Pune to Chennai.

The insides are as you would expect of a Range Rover – draped in Windsor leather, a minimalist dash with the Pivi Pro system taking centre stage and luxury befitting the Range Rover brand. The Body and Soul seats feature exciters that reenergise you on the go. The Meridian Signature sound system is crisp. The fundamentals aren’t forgotten: plenty of storage and loads of space in the back. And it was effortless: we were doing 1000km days on our drive from Pune to Chennai, with no fatigue.
The interiors continue to deliver on everything Range Rover – swathed in Windsor leather, the Pivi Pro system in the centre along with Body and Soul seats and a Meridian Signature sound system.
The Range Rover Sport is already a dynamic SUV but the SV badge on the tailgate takes that sportiness to another dimension. Think about what it comes packing – a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 with mild hybrid assist, taken from our favourite super-saloon. 626bhp. 750Nm torque, bumped up to 800Nm with Dynamic Launch mode. 0-100kmph in a claimed 3.9 seconds. Top speed of 290kmph. Massive numbers for a massive car. The engine is one thing but the chassis is another. It gets brilliant 6D Dynamics suspension that tightens up body control to an unbelievable degree. And you wake up everything, prime it to one hundred per cent, when you tap the SV button.

Hang on tight for our SV Track Attack series, as we are taking the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two to every single racetrack in India. At every track, we’re going to explore a different facet of the Range Rover’s performance arsenal – engine, suspension, SV mode, top speed. To push it to its absolute limit and set representative lap times at every track, we’re enlisting the help of professional motorsport athletes. These racers are at the top of their game, know the tracks they’re driving intimately and can extract the best from the machine. As you’re about to find out over the next stories, taking an SV to the track isn’t such a ludicrous idea after all. Welcome, to SV Track Attack!
