2025 Rally of Himalayas to be held from October 3 to October 6

The fifth edition of the Rally of Himalayas will take place from October 3 to October 6 this year, and this rally will also feature the rugged landscapes of Ladakh and the Zanskar region. This rally has been organised by Himalayan Xtreme Motorsports and sanctioned by the FMSCI.

First run in 2021, this year will be the fifth edition of the rally and it will consist of 6 competitive stages, running from Manali and passing through Gramphu, Bathal, Jispa and Darcha, as well as Shinku La. This rally will cover a distance of approximately 800km (including the transport stages), says Suresh Rana, 11-time Raid de Himalaya winner and founder of Himalayan Xtreme Motorsports, the organiser of this rally.

The Rally of Himalayas has multiple classes for both cars and motorcycles participants to compete in, including classes for two-wheel-drive as well four-wheel-drive vehicles. It also includes a class for female riders to encourage women in motorsport. In our conversation with Rana, the founder of Himalayan Xtreme Motorsports said that roughly 85 bikes will compete in this edition of the rally, with 25 cars confirmed so far and up to 6 more cars expected to register before entries to the rally are closed.

With the promise of a route that will push the participants and their machines to the limit, along with the picturesque backdrop of the mountains, the Rally of Himalayas is definitely something that Indian motorsport enthusiasts should look forward to!
