Hero MotoCorp at the EICMA 2025 in Milan
At EICMA 2025 in Milan, Hero MotoCorp elevated its global ambitions by unveiling its portfolio that balances Dakar-inspired performance, rugged scrambler style, and the latest electric mobility. From the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition’s rally pedigree and the new Hunk 440 SX’s scrambler spirit to the VIDA electric concepts for urban explorers and off-road enthusiasts, young and old, Hero’s expansive showcase signals its readiness to lead in both ICE and EV segments worldwide.
Hero Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition
Hero’s Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition takes rally capabilities even further. Building on its predecessor, it features fully adjustable rally-spec suspension with 280mm travel, 270mm of ground clearance, and a taller seat for substantial improvements for off-road enthusiasts. The bike is powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine that puts out 24bhp at 9,250rpm and 20.7Nm at 7,250rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The striking red, white, and black Dakar livery, complete with Hero’s Dakar competitor Ross Branch’s autograph, connects this edition directly to Hero’s competition roots. The Xpulse 210 Dakar now runs knobby Maxxis tyres, a 21/18-inch wheel setup, and offers three ABS modes, switchable via a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity.
Hero Hunk 440 SX
The Hunk 440 SX marches into the scrambler segment atop the Mavrick 440 platform. The 440cc single produces around 27bhp and 36Nm. Key features include ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes, traction control, switchable ABS, and a digital TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Scrambler elements like a high-mounted twin exhaust, 18-inch front / 17-inch rear wheels with block-pattern tyres, and an engine bashplate complement rugged styling, positioning the Hunk 440 SX against segment leaders like the Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 and Triumph Scrambler 400X.
Hero VIDA Electric Concepts
Hero’s electric ambitions shone with the debut of two motorcycles: VIDA Concept Ubex and Project VxZ. The Ubex is a futuristic Neo-Naked Urban Explorer built on a modular platform for multi-terrain ability, blending supermoto lines with city and off-road comfort, and featuring advanced smart connectivity. Project VxZ, developed with Zero Motorcycles USA, previews Hero’s push into high-performance global e-mobility. Though technical details remain under wraps, Hero confirmed VxZ points the way for the brand’s future in fast electric motorcycling.
Hero VIDA Off-Road Electric Series: DIRT.E K3 and MX7
Hero doubled down on electrifying off-road adventure with the VIDA DIRT.E K3—a unique, award-winning kids’ EV dirt bike (Red Dot Design Award 2025), offering an adjustable wheelbase and rider triangle for ages 4-10, with pre-bookings open for Europe and India. For adults, the DIRT.E MX7 is a full-size motocross/enduro model with a lightweight carbon-fibre frame, swappable batteries, and app-based tuning and tracking for customisable performance on the trails.
Exciting stuff from the Hero MotoCorp booth at the 2025 EICMA show in Milan. The Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition and ideally the Hunk (or Mavrick) 440 SX should make their way to India soon.
