Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is celebrating 25 years of operations in India and the company commemorated the occasion by unveiling two new motorcycles – the Honda Shine 100 DX and the Honda CB125 Hornet. Bookings for both these motorcycles will commence from August 1, 2025 and the prices are also expected to be revealed by then. Read on to know more about both these Honda motorcycles.

Honda Shine 100 DX

The Shine 100 DX is a 100cc commuter motorcycle that gets a refreshed design and a newly-designed headlamp with a chrome garnishing. The motorcycle also gets graphics on the side panels, while the 677mm long seat is claimed to ensure maximum comfort for the rider as well as the pillion. The engine and grab rail are both finished in black, and the motorcycle is offered in four colour options – Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic and Geny Gray Metallic. It also gets a chrome muffler cover.

In terms of equipment, the Shine 100 DX comes with an LCD digital instrument cluster that displays information such as a real-time mileage, distance to empty and a service due indicator. The motorcycle also comes with a side stand engine cut off feature. Powering the Shine 100 DX is a 98.98cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, OBD2B compliant engine that produces 7.28bhp of power and 8.04Nm of torque, and this engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. There’s also a wider fuel tank with a larger 10-litre capacity. Handling the suspension duties on the Shine 100 DX are the telescopic forks up front and 5-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear, while braking is handled by drum brakes at the front as well as the rear, with Honda’s Combined Brake System (CBS). The motorcycle rides on 17-inch tubeless tyres and gets 168mm of ground clearance.

The Honda CB125 Hornet gets youth-centric and aggressive styling

The Honda CB125 Hornet is the more youth-centric and aggressively-styled motorcycle of the two, and it features an all-LED lighting setup that includes a twin-LED headlamp with DRLs and high-mounted turn indicators. The Hornet also gets a fuel tank with tank shrouds and a stylish muffler. The CB125 Hornet is equipped with golden USD front forks, claimed to be the first in segment, along with a 5-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle also gets multi-spoke alloy wheels and is equipped with a split seat setup. The CB125 Hornet can be had in four colour options – Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red.

In terms of equipment, the motorcycle comes with a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with the Honda RoadSync app. You also get a USB Type-C charging port on the CB125 Hornet. Powering the Honda is a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, OBD2B compliant engine that produces 11bhp of power and 11.2Nm of torque, and this engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The CB125 Hornet can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in a claimed time of 5.4 seconds. Braking duties are handled by a 240mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear, with the motorcycle getting single-channel ABS. The CB125 Hornet rides on tubeless tyres – with a 80/100-17 tyre at the front and a 110/80-17 tyre at the rear.

Prices for both these motorcycles have not yet been revealed by Honda, but bookings will be commencing from August 1, 2025. We expect that the prices will also be revealed by this date, with the company stating that customer deliveries for these motorcycles will begin in a phased manner.
