BMW M2 CS launched in India at ₹1.66 crore
Nurburgring’s quickest compact arrives on our shores. A limited-run, rear-driven, track weapon, now in India;
BMW has finally brought the hardcore version of its smallest M car to India, and it’s as serious as it gets. The new BMW M2 CS arrives as a completely built-up unit, in limited numbers, and with one clear intent: deliver the purest, most unfiltered driving experience in the segment.
Priced at ₹1.66 crore (ex-showroom), this isn’t just another M car. This is the most powerful M2 ever made, and easily one of the most focused compact performance machines on sale today.
BMW M2 CS Nurburgring lap time: 7 minutes, 25 seconds
Before it even set foot on Indian soil, the M2 CS had already made its intentions clear and then some. Around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, it clocked a staggering 7:25.5 lap time, making it the fastest compact production car to lap the Green Hell. Not by a margin you could argue about but by a gap that firmly establishes it as the benchmark in its class.
That number isn’t just a headline stat. It tells you everything about this car’s character. Precision, balance, and relentless pace, this is a machine engineered to perform when it matters most.
BMW M2 CS powertrain
At the heart of the M2 CS sits an uprated version of BMW’s now-legendary S58 3.0-litre inline-six, and it transforms the car’s personality entirely. With 530 horsepower and 650Nm of torque, the CS produces 50 horsepower more than the standard M2, while shedding 30 kilograms in the process. The result is a car that feels sharper, more urgent, and far more alive at every input.
Flat out, it will sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and keep pulling all the way to a top speed of 302kmph. And crucially, all of that performance is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission — because this is still, at its core, a driver’s car.
BMW M2 CS chassis
BMW hasn’t simply added power and called it a day. The M2 CS has been reworked underneath to ensure it can actually use every bit of that performance. The chassis sits lower, the suspension has been retuned, and the control systems have been recalibrated specifically for this car’s more aggressive character. The result is a machine that feels composed at the limit, yet adjustable enough to keep keen drivers engaged. What really elevates the experience, though, is the layer of driver-focused tech. The ten-stage traction control system allows you to fine-tune how much slip you want, while features like the M Drift Analyser and M Laptimer add a layer of interaction that goes beyond just going fast. This is a car that encourages you to explore its limits and rewards you for doing so.
BMW M2 CS lightweight components and aero
The M2 CS looks sharper because it is sharper. Carbon fibre isn’t just sprinkled on for effect; it’s fundamental to how this car has been engineered. The roof, boot lid, mirror caps and rear diffuser are all crafted from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic, cutting weight while adding a layer of visual aggression. The highlight, though, is the CS-specific ducktail spoiler. It isn’t just there to grab attention, it plays a crucial role in improving aerodynamic balance and stability at speed, giving the M2 CS that unmistakable track-bred stance.
BMW M2 CS interiors
Step inside, and the focus is immediately clear. The M2 CS blends lightweight construction with a sense of occasion, wrapping its occupants in carbon bucket seats while layering the cabin with Alcantara and subtle CS-specific detailing.
There’s a motorsport edge to everything you touch, from the steering wheel to the centre console, but it doesn’t completely sacrifice comfort. Merino leather, ambient lighting and a Harman Kardon sound system ensure that, for all its track bias, the CS can still handle everyday duties when required.
BMW M2 CS availability and paint options
Adding to its desirability is the fact that BMW is bringing the M2 CS to India in strictly limited numbers. This isn’t a car you’ll see often, and that’s precisely the point.
Available in a range of striking colours, including Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire and the standout Individual Velvet Blue, the M2 CS carries just enough visual drama to match its performance.
