Citroen Aircross scores 5 stars in Bharat NCAP crash test

Crash safety is becoming an increasingly important factor when it comes to shaping car buying decisions in India, and the Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP crash test ratings are the best way to gauge how safe a vehicle will keep its occupants in the instance of an accident. The Citroen C3 Aircross was recently subjected to the Bharat NCAP crash tests and the SUV scored a 5-star crash safety rating in the tests. This crash safety rating is applicable to the 5-seater version of Citroen’s SUV.

In the Bharat NCAP crash tests, the Citroen scored five stars when it comes to adult occupant protection with a score of 27.05 points out of a maximum 32 points. In terms of child occupant protection, the Citroen scored four stars, with a score of 40.49 points out of a maximum 49 points. The SUV also packs in over 40 safety features, including six airbags as standard, ESC, hill hold, ISOFIX mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. It is great to see more manufacturers place a higher emphasis on making safer cars for India, and the prices for the Citroen C3 Aircross start from 8.32 lakh. In terms of rivals, the Citroen goes up against the likes of mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, the Kia Seltos, the Honda Elevate, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
