Mini India announces pre-bookings of Cooper S Oxford Edition
Bookings for the limited edition Mini open in India
Mini India has confirmed that the Oxford Edition of its Mini Cooper S will be launching in India later this year. The three-door Mini hatchback embodies the spirit of Oxford City, UK which is the brand’s birthplace, and the carmaker has announced bookings for the limited edition hatchback.
The Oxford Edition sports vibrant touches to the exterior and interior notably with a Union Jack roof surrounding the panoramic sunroof, bold red and white stripes running along the bonnet and the rear hatch with special Union Jack and chequred flag badges, and unique Mini centre caps on the machined 18-inch alloy wheels which also get Union Jack valve covers.
On the inside, the Oxford-inspired theme continues with a unique Union Jack theme for the 9.4-inch circular OLED infotainment screen in the centre. Additionally, the Cooper S gets special graphics on the door sills, floor mats and contrasting stitching on the seats.
Since this limited edition is based on the Cooper S, it will be powered by the standard 2-litre turbo-petrol engine which is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to the front wheels. It’s rated for a peak output of 201.2bhp and 300Nm of torque. The exact launch date has not been announced yet, but bookings for the hatchback are now open in India. Stay tuned for more information.
