Tata Harrier.ev scores a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash test

Tata Motor's flagship EV scores a 5-star safety rating in BNCAP.

Tata Motors’ flagship EV, the Tata Harrier.ev, has been subjected to the Bharat NCAP crash tests and the electric SUV scored a 5-star safety rating. The Harrier.ev which was crash tested was the top-spec Empowered 75 variant of the SUV and both the rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations of the Harrier.ev were tested by Bharat NCAP.

The Tata Harrier.ev scored 32 points out of a maximum 32 points for adult occupant protection, and the electric SUV has scored 45 points out of a maximum of 49 points when it comes to child occupant protection. Interestingly, the Mahindra XEV 9E, one of the main rivals of the Harrier.ev also scored a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, and both the electric SUVs scored the same number of points when it comes to adult occupant protection as well as child occupant protection.

The safety equipment on offer with the Tata Harrier.ev includes 7-airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, Level 2 ADAS and an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). Additional safety equipment such as ESP with i-VBAC (Brake-by-Wire), SOS Calling, a digital-IRVM with a front and rear dash cam and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) is also present.

Tata Motors has consistently laid a special emphasis on safety with their cars and this trend has continued even with their latest offering, the Tata Harrier.ev. Tata Motors recently announced the introductory pricing for the rear-wheel-drive variants of the Harrier.ev and bookings for electric SUV will be commencing from July 2.
