VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 score 5 stars in Bharat NCAP crash tests

VinFast, the Vietnamese carmaker which made its debut in the Indian market in 2025, has been awarded a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests for both of it EVs, the VinFast VF 6 and the VinFast VF 7 which are currently on sale in India.
The VinFast VF 6 scored 27.13 / 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41 / 49 points for Child Occupant Protection
Taking a closer look at the crash test results, the VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 points when it comes to Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41 out of 49 points when it comes to Child Occupant Protection. On the other hand, the VinFast VF 7 scored relatively higher, with a score of 28.54 out of 32 points and 45.25 out of 49 points for Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection, respectively.

In frontal impact tests, both the VinFast EVs scored 4.00 points for head & neck and upper leg protection for both driver and passenger – which is the maximum on the BNCAP scale. In side impact tests, both cars achieved a 16/16 score for adult occupants and an 8/8 score for child occupants. Coming to the pole side impact tests, the head injury assessment values for VF 6 and VF 7 were recorded at 109 and 131 points respectively – which is significantly lower than the Bharat NCAP critical threshold of 700. Both the EVs are also equipped with safety equipment which includes 7 airbags, ADAS with functions including Auto Lane Changing Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front and Rear Automatic Emergency Brake, and Blind Spot Detection.
