The fastest cars on earth

Team Evo India

Ever wondered which are the fastest cars in the world irrespective of their energy source?

Allow us to tell you more:

Electric storm:

The NIO EP9 is not your regular BEV(battery electrical vehicle) used for moving elderly people around malls, instead it packs a Formula E unit under the hood but in a LaFerrari. At 2.7 seconds, it is slower to 100kmph than the Tesla S by 0.2 seconds, but the top speed is a massive 313kmph. The peak power output is 1 MegaWatt, which is equivalent to 1341bhp and can power 1000 homes easily!

Fastest diesel on earth:

JCB doesn’t just make earth movers but diesel engines too! The JCB444 CRI Diesel twin compound incorporates massive turbochargers & intercoolers to churn out 750bhp, allowing to reach a top whack 560kmph, which is still an unbeaten record.

Is it a plane? No, its a car!:

A car to break the sound barrier! The ThrustSSC powered by a twin afterburning Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engine shared with the British F4 Phantom II jet fighter that churns out 1,10,000bhp (Yes, you read that right) to achieve a top speed of 1,228kmph on land despite weighing a substantial 10.6 tonnes. Its not affordable to run though as it consumes 18ltrs of jet fuel per second at peak power output.

Hybrid power:

Current generation hybrids aren’t staying behind when it comes to going fast. The trinity of Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 has set the bar really high for supercars, but the Swedes are not staying behind in the horsepower race. The Koenigsegg Regera incorporates a DOHC 5-litre V8 ICE combined with a 800 volt, 4.5kWh battery pack throwing out a fused power output of 1500bhp, helping it reach 400 kmph in under 20 seconds. It is currently the world’s fastest hybrid, but do not forget that the Bugatti Chiron is coming soon.
