AMGs hold a special place in my heart, dating back to the iconic black AMG G 63 W463, the very first poster car adorning the walls of my room. Furthermore, my first supercar experience was in the AMG GT 63 S E Performance, and the thrill (and, of course, fear) of experiencing such high horsepower cemented my love for these machines. That is why the AMG Emotion Tour is one event that I eagerly await every year. It is a celebration that encapsulates my passion for all things AMG. It keeps my excitement of witnessing the latest releases and the 2023 edition was no exception. This year's AMG Emotion Tour showcased the crème de la crème from the ‘world's fastest family.’ Among the 60 AMGs on display, five spectacular AMGs stood out, and here is a list of them.

Mercedes-AMG G 63

It's a refreshing change to catch a G Wagen sporting a hue beyond the usual monochrome palette. However, this particular AMG G 63 stands out for another special reason. Draped in Vintage Blue (formerly known as China Blue), it stands as the sole model in this captivating colour available in India. And guess where this rare gem made its appearance? Exclusively at the AMG Emotion Tour!

Mercedes W211 E 63 AMG

Belonging to Parag Rajda, a friend of evo India, this car stands among just two 6.2-litre V8 naturally aspirated W211 E 63s in the country! This one, draped in a hue of grey, produces 525bhp and some 600Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster C197

Only four of these marvels remain in India, and guess what? One of them made its appearance on the 2023 AMG Emotion Tour! Dressed in an exquisite shade of brown, this SLS captivated all attention. The featured model was from the first generation of the SLS, with a monstrous 6.2-litre V8 engine under the hood and only available in rear-wheel drive.

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance

The AMG GT 63 S E Performance from Affalterbach is a real powerhouse that blends strength and innovation. It's the mightiest AMG and the first hybrid one too. Picture this: it's got 841bhp and 1470Nm, tearing down an airstrip so fast you could blink and miss it. That lightning-speed moment highlights how far car tech has come.

Mercedes-AMG SL 55

Among the new AMG models on display at this Emotion Tour was the AMG SL 55, which was elegantly dressed in white. Under the hood is a powerful 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 474bhp and a formidable peak torque of 700Nm. This powerhouse accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 295kmph.

The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 was recently launched in India at a pricetag of Rs 2.35 crore

Even though these are only a few of the most amazing AMGs from the Emotion Tour, it is important to recognise that each AMG on display at the occasion has a special meaning and backstory. It was difficult to choose the very best car because each one had a unique charm and history. In the end, the choice is a reflection of individual tastes.
