5th Edition of Rainforest Challenge India

The 5th Edition of the Rainforest Challenge, off-road event will be held from July 21 to 28, 2018 in Goa and will be organised by Cougar Motorsport. This year RFC India has confirmed 41 participants from all over the country including an all-women’s team from Bengaluru. This will also be the first time RFC has seen participation of enthusiasts from the North-East. Three teams to be precise.

The confirmed registration sheet released on the RFC’s Facebook page shows maximum participation from the state of Kerala (10 teams). Hyderabad stands second in charts at 6 teams including Team Mars and Team CORAC.

The objective over these eight days and 26 gruelling special stages is to gain the maximum points. As the calendar gets thinner, the stages get tougher and the July monsoons will surely make it unpredictable. The prize money for the RFC 2018 winner is $10,000 (Rs 6.50lakh approx.) along with an entry to the Mother event of the Rainforest Challenge in Malaysia which is held towards the end of 2018.

Bonus

Cougar Motorsports has also announced that it will organise the India edition of Rainforest Trophy (RFT), which will be held from 16th to 20th of October 2018 in Arunachal Pradesh. The event will be a non-racing event and will follow an off-roading expedition format which will involve teams from around the country manoeuvring their vehicles through treacherous terrain and natural obstacles. The motto for the event is “One for all and all for one” where everyone travels in a close convoy and gets out of the jungle together.
