Suvrat Kothari

Samrat Yadav along with co-driver Karan Akuta have made Team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport proud. They emerged victorious in the T1 4W category after finishing the leg five stages with a total time of 07:21:10(hh:mm:ss) at the Dakshin Dare 2018 that ended in Goa. They powered their AWD S-cross to a classic finish, after steadily holding the top position in all stages of leg 4 and 5 of the raid.

On clinching the title in his category, Samrat Yadav said, “Even though the Gypsy was a stallion, the new S-cross is a latest generation vehicle with multi-link suspension that gives it great driving dynamics, adding to the overall feel. The all wheel drive system in the S-cross is top notch. It’s an electro-magnetic system with three settings for AWD usage- 20%, 40% and 90%. Moreover, the 1.6 litre engine is very punchy and the high ground clearance helped us a lot. It even drives really well into the corners”.

Finishing in the second place of the same category was defending champion Suresh Rana along with co-driver Chirag Thakur in their AWD Grand Vitara with a time of 07:29:19. The duo made an impressive comeback after losing quite some time because of two punctures during leg one in Hosadurga. While Dharam Pal Jhangra from the R&D team of Team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport finished fifth with a time of 10:33:36. He was driving Team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport’s new AWD Vitara Brezza.

In the T2 2W category, Sandeep Sharma along with co-driver Anmol Rampal powered their FWD Vitara Brezza to victory after finishing the final rounds in just 07:27:11. While Dharam Pal Jhangra from the R&D team of Team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport finished fifth in the T1 4W category with a time of 10:33:36.
