Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched their all-new Marazzo MPV at a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh ex showroom, India. According to the company, the Marazzo’s design is an outcome of collaboration between Pininfarina and the Mahindra Design Studio in Mumbai.

The Marazzo features a new ‘shark-inspired’ design in its front grille inserts, tail-lamps and its streamlined silhouette. Upfront, the MPV has abundant amounts of chrome along with projector headlamps and DRLs while at the rear it retains the boxy bulk of its MPV build.

Under the hood the Marazzo is powered by a 1.5 litre, 4-cylinder D15 diesel engine that produces 121bhp and a healthy 300nm of torque. Moreover, the car is based on a body of frame architecture, which according to the company will result in enhanced agility and smoother ride quality. It also has a class leading ground clearance of 245mm, which should make bumpy city drives quite comfortable.

On the features front, the Marazzo comes equipped with a 7inch touch-screen infotainment system, Android Auto, steering mounted audio and calling controls etc. For safety, the Mahindra has equipped the car with disc brakes on all four wheels along with dual airbags and ABS. All of which, will be offered as standard across all variants.

On the launch of their new MPV, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. said, “The launch of Marazzo is a defining moment in our automotive journey not only within India but globally as well. Being the first joint product development effort between Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) & Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), the Marazzo aptly represents our ‘Rise’ philosophy in action.  Our development teams have used alternative thinking and challenged the limits to deliver a vehicle that is poised to be nothing less than a game changer for us.  We are entering a new orbit and hope to deliver yet another iconic offering.”

With a base price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the new Marazzo looks to bridge the gap between two of the most popular MPV’s in the country- the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta. The Maruti has a price tag of Rs. 6.94 lakh while the Innova Crysta, which is much pricier and premium, sells at Rs. 14.65 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
