Audi reveals its RSQ e-tron virtual concept car
Audi’s latest concept car is for the virtual reality world. Christened RSQ e-tron, Audi’s fully electric and autonomous concept car for the virtual world was created by Audi Design in collaboration with Blue Sky Studios, for the animated film ‘Spies in Disguise’, produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film. The two-seater electric supercar will be driven by Lance Sterling, the protagonist and super spy in the film. Will Smith will give voice for the character on screen. The film is slated for 2019 release. This is not the first time that Audi has made a concept car for a film. In the 2004 blockbuster, ‘I, Robot’ (starring Will Smith), the protagonist drives the Audi RSQ – an autonomous sports coupe. The coupe could also drive sideways and diagonally, as it rolled on balls the size of a tyre, instead of a conventional wheel-tyre combination.
The RSQ e-tron looks smashing in its virtual avatar. Being supercar in spy movies, the Audi RSQ e-tron will get a lot of tech for the spy to evade and maintain stealth mode. The RSQ e-tron makes use of artificial intelligence and hologram speedometer among other features.

On the new Audi RSQ e-tron, Frank Rimili, head of exterior design studio 3 at AUDI AG said, “Audi takes a digital, forward-looking approach to the design process, both in developing fictional content and in the production modeling studio. At Audi Design, we combine state-of-the-art digital visualization techniques with handmade precision. These processes enable us to implement futuristic design ideas with the same precision in the development of a fictional virtual concept vehicle such as the RSQ e-tron.”
