Aprilia unveils the SXR GT in India

Aprilia has announced the SXR GT in India, for riders who want a convenient city scooter which can also tour highways. Bookings for the scooter are open at all Aprilia dealerships across India, with pricing to be announced soon.

Aprilia SXR GT design and ergonomics

The Aprilia SXR GT has the proportions of a maxi-scooter with massive proportions. The front end sports a triple LED headlight, along with a large windscreen masking the scooter's handlebars. The handlebars themselves are not exposed and feature a shroud on them.

The SXR GT 125 is available in three colourways: Matte Black, Glossy Azzuro and Glossy White. The SXR GT 175 is available in three exclusive colourways: Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green; it also gets new footboard graphics. Both scooters ride on 14-inch wheels, which Aprilia claim give it smoother and sharper handling. The SXR GT 175 also gets a new muffler with integrated heat protection.

As mentioned earlier, the SXR GT is available with two engine options. The SXR GT 125 is powered by a 125cc four-stroke fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with 3 valves that produces 10.4bhp and 10.4Nm of torque. 

The SXR GT 175 is powered by a 174.7cc four-stroke fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with 3 valves that produces 13.08bhp and 14.14Nm of torque. Both engines are air-cooled and feature electric start. Both variants sit on telescopic front forks, with dual-effect hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear, which have adjustable preload.

Braking duties are handled by a 220mm disc at the front with a 140mm drum brake at the rear.
