Bajaj Auto has launched the Pulsar N250SS as an upgraded Pulsar N250, with a new four-valve engine, a six-speed gearbox, a 5-inch TFT console, and ride modes. Here is a closer look at the Bajaj Pulsar N250SS.

Bajaj Pulsar N250SS features

The 5-inch TFT console is a new addition to the Pulsar, replacing the LCD unit on the existing N250. It brings Google Maps mirroring, which means your route can sit right in front of you without a phone strapped to the handlebar. The Bajaj Pulsar N250SS also gets adjustable levers, so you can set the reach to suit your hand, a USB Type-C port to keep your phone charged on long rides and a hazard light switch.

Bajaj Pulsar N250SS chassis and suspension

Mechanically the bike continues to remain identical and makes use of a tubular frame with a monoshock suspension at the rear, 300mm disc brakes up front and a 230mm disc at the rear, along with dual-channel ABS. What the Bajaj Pulsar N250SS does add on the safety side is a Panic Brake Alert. The ETB ride modes also sit alongside the existing ABS modes, so the rider now has more ways to set the bike up for the road ahead.

Bajaj Pulsar N250SS engine and performance

This is where the Bajaj Pulsar N250SS earns its extra letters. A new four-valve engine produces 24.7bhp and 22Nm of torque, up from 24.2bhp and 21.5Nm on the existing N250. The gearbox too is now a six-speed unit replacing the earlier five speed, and the upgrade also introduces an electronic throttle body with ride modes, and a Sports Shifter rounds out the package for riders who like to keep the shifts quick.

Bajaj Pulsar N250SS pricing and rivals

The Bajaj Pulsar N250SS is priced at ₹1.59 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi and it is stepping into a busy corner of the market. Its most natural rivals are the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Bajaj claims the Bajaj Pulsar N250SS is the most feature-loaded motorcycle in the quarter-litre segment, though only a thorough comparison test will help us determine the same against its rivals.
