Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP

Exactly 20 years after introducing the first Hypermotard at EICMA, Ducati has pulled the wraps off the most advanced version yet — the Hypermotard V2. The fourth-generation model arrives with a cleaner design, a heavily reworked engine, and serious weight savings that promise an even wilder, more precise ride.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Engine

The 2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 marks a major evolution in Ducati’s supermotard family. At its heart lies a new 890cc V2 engine that produces 118bhp at 10,750rpm and 94Nm at 8,250rpm, an increase of 6bhp over the Hypermotard 950. Combined with a 13kg drop in weight, the V2’s performance potential climbs to a whole new level.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Chassis

The motorcycle employs a completely new monocoque frame paired with fully adjustable 46mm Kayaba USD forks and a Kayaba rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjustment. It rides on cast alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, while braking duties are managed by Brembo M4.32 calipers. Tipping the scales at just 180kg (kerb, without fuel), the Hypermotard V2 ensures a remarkable power-to-weight ratio.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Features

Ducati’s latest-generation electronics suite comes standard, featuring four-stage cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, Ducati Quickshift 2.0, engine brake control, launch control, and even a pit-lane limiter. A new 5-inch colour TFT display with a joystick switchgear setup, all-LED lighting, and a double-sided swingarm complete the package, powered by a traditional lead-acid battery.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 SP

The Hypermotard V2 SP pushes the limits even further. It carries everything that the standard bike gets but apart from that it sports a striking SP livery and track-ready components including fully adjustable 48mm Ohlins NIX 30 USD forks and an Ohlins STX46 monoshock at the rear. The SP swaps to forged aluminium wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres for extra grip, while braking performance steps up with top-spec Brembo M50 calipers. At just 177kg (kerb, without fuel), the SP sheds an additional 3kg compared to the standard V2, courtesy of a lighter lithium battery and carbon fibre front fender. With its reduced weight, enhanced suspension, and sharper tyres, the Hypermotard V2 SP delivers even more agility and track precision.

The new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP celebrate two decades of the supermotard icon by combining reduced weight, sharper technology, and evolved design. Ducati has once again turned a raw motorcycling concept into an ultimate expression of lightweight performance and pure riding pleasure.

As has been the case over the last few years, expect the Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP to launch in India sometime next year. Prices are expected to be a bit more than the 950 owing to the extra kit and tech that the motorcycles pack.
