The latest Trident 800 sharpens the design from the Trident 660 and gets Tiger Sport 800's 3-cylinder engine

The MY 2026 Trident 800 has been unveiled, Triumph has taken the Trident 660’s design, chiseled it further and given it the Tiger Sport 800’s powerplant. It will be available in Europe and other major global markets by March, 2026. Here’s a quick look at what it brings to the competition.

2026 Triumph Trident 800 design and equipment

Neo-retro naked roadster design with a tightly contoured 14-litre fuel tank that meets the sleek seat, leading to the short tail. It has an upswept and short exhaust. There’s all-LED lighting on offer with a round front DRL signature. On the equipment front, it has received an ABS optimised for cornering, traction control and Triumph Shift Assist. Additionally, it has a round LCD instrument cluster and an integrated 3.5-inch colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity.

2026 Triumph Trident 800 engine and chassis

The latest addition to the Trident lineup gets the 798cc 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the Tiger Sport 800, which produces 113bhp at 10,750rpm and 84Nm at 8,500rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox with slip & assist clutch. Triumph has given it three riding modes — Rain, Road and Sport. Chassis-wise, it gets a tubular steel perimeter frame, twin-sided swingarm. Suspension duties are performed by Showa 41mm USD big piston front fork with 120mm travel, adjustable for rebound and compression and a Showa rear monoshock with 130mm travel adjustable for preload and rebound. It gets twin 310mm floating discs with 4-piston radial callipers at the front and a single 220mm fixed disc, single piston sliding calliper at the rear. There are 17-inch aluminium front and rear wheels shod in Michelin tyres. The Trident 800 weighs 198kg full of fluids and fuel.

2026 Triumph Trident 800 rivals and availability

The Trident 800 is slated to go on sale in Europe amidst other major global markets by March, 2026. Its Indian arrival is expected sometime in the next year. When launched, it will compete with the likes of the Honda Hornet and the Kawasaki Z900.
