Norton Reveals a New 450cc Urban Motorcycle: What We Know So Far
Norton has confirmed a new 450cc urban motorcycle, powered by a 454 cc single-cylinder engine that makes 45Nm of torque
Norton’s recently confirmed 450cc urban is part of the next phase of the brand’s resurgence under TVS Motor Company’s ownership and follows the Manx and Atlas bikes; sales for the 450cc bike are set to begin in 2027, with more details to be revealed closer to the launch
What we know about the Norton 450cc Motorcycle
The motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine that makes 45Nm of torque. Norton mentions that the engine is tuned to be responsive, and the bike is built to be easy to ride in the city rather than one chasing power figures.
The chassis is built around an aluminium frame, which Norton says is the base for agile handling. On the tech side, there is an 8-inch TFT touchscreen which will sport connectivity features. Norton has not mentioned what those features are, so we will hold judgement on how useful the system will be until we see it in action. The motorcycle also continues to blend in with the brand's reductive, simplified design direction similar to the Manx and Atlas series.
What Norton has not said yet
Norton has given a torque figure but no power number, so we cannot yet say how much power the 454 cc single cylinder will make. Weight, seat height, brakes, suspension, fuel tank capacity, price and lastly the name are all yet to be revealed.
For Indian readers, another important missing piece is timing. Norton says preparations are underway for the brand’s launch in India and the United States, although no specific timeline has been mentioned by the company. Norton Motorcycles is currently on sale in the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.
