BMW Group India records an annual growth of 13 per cent in 2018

The BMW Group India comprising of BMW India, MINI and BMW Motorrad had an action-packed 2018. The group has registered a growth of 13 per cent compared to 2017 with a cumulative sale of 11,105 cars from the BMW and MINI stable.

BMW India sold 10,405 cars which has been the highest by the company giving them a boost of 11 per cent this year. MINI India has had the massive growth of 66 per cent with 700 units being sold in 2018.

The locally produced BMW X1, X3 and the X5 contributed up to 50 per cent of BMW India’s sale. The BMW Group plant in Chennai will also manufacture X4 and X7 in 2019. The MINI hatch including the now locally-made MINI Countryman gave a boost of over 60 per cent to the MINI family.

2018 was BMW Motorrad’s first full year since they began operations in India and with 2187 motorcycles sold, they have been successful. The baby Beemers, G 310 R and the G 310 GS contributed over 75 per cent in the brands total sales.
