Lamborghini Urus SE Performante revealed
Lighter, faster and more driver-focussed, the Urus SE Performante is the most powerful Lamborghini SUV ever
The Urus SE Performante is the most powerful Lamborghini SUV
Lamborghini has revealed the latest addition to its model line-up in the form of the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante super SUV – a high-performance version of the standard Urus SE plug-in hybrid. Powered by a 4-litre twin turbo V8 mated to an electric motor, the SE Performante is more powerful than the standard Urus SE while being lighter and more powerful.
Lamborghini Urus SE Performante engine and performance
The beating heart of the Urus SE Performante is a plug-in hybrid powertrain which includes a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 along with a permanent magnet electric motor, and the powertrain produces a combined system output of 799bhp and 1000Nm – making it even more powerful than the previous Urus Performante. The use of carbonfiber elements, a new bonnet, front and rear bumpers also improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the Urus SE Performante, in addition to lowering weight. This means the super SUV can accelerate from 0-100kmph in a claimed 3.3 seconds, with 200kmph coming up in 10.8 seconds, with a claimed top speed of 312kmph. A lightweight titanium Akrapovič sports exhaust system is part of the standard kit, and is lighter than the outgoing setup by 10kg.
Lamborghini Urus SE Performante design
In terms of the overall design, the Urus SE Performante appears to be identical to the standard SE but makes use of sharper and more sculpted lines. Carbonfiber elements have been used extensively, such as the new bonnet which is made up of the material and incorporates what Lamborghini calls a power dome. The air intakes are now larger and redesigned for improved cooling towards the radiators, the SUV rolls on new 23-inch alloy wheels featuring an intersecting Y-spoke design, and the Lamborghini also gets a new carbonfibre spoiler, in addition to the largest diffuser to be fitted on an Urus. The Lamborghini also gets new colours such as this neon-yellow hue called new Giallo Crius, in addition to an shade named Verde Hydra matte.
Lamborghini Urus SE Performante interior
For the interior, the Lamborghini now gets a more driver-focused layout making use of sustainable materials such as CorsaTex by Dinamica microfiber, and at the centre of the dashboard is a new 12.3-inch screen featuring updated graphics inspired by that of the Lamborghini Revuelto. designers at the Lamborghini Centro Stile focused particularly on designing the air vents, the Y-shaped anodized aluminum details, and new upholstery for the panels, seats, and dashboard of the Urus SE Performante, which now features an all-new aviation-inspired mechanical button panel that further emphasizes the “feel like a pilot” concept. The driver gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the Performante gets a model-specific telemetry system, along with a steering wheel designed specifically for this model.
Lamborghini Urus SE Performante suspension
Also new to this model is the AURA architecture with 2K2V dual-chamber air suspension. Compared to previous Urus models, the SE Performante can radically transform its character by simultaneously acting on both the elastic and damping components. The new dual-chamber air springs (“2K” standing for “2 chambers,” combined with “2V,” meaning “2 valves”) configuration allows targeted variation of axle stiffness according to each driving mode and style, significantly expanding the operating range between comfort and sportiness. This model also gets an increased track width (by 16mm) and that should translate in improved stability and lesser body roll when driving hard.
It has not yet been officially confirmed whether Lamborghini will be bringing the Urus SE Performante in India, but given the strong demand for the Lamborghini Urus in our market, it is likely that this more powerful Urus SE will be making its way to India shortly after its global launch.
