Maruti Suzuki e Vitara prices start from ₹15.99 lakh

The Indo-Japanese automaker discloses the full-price of its first EV, which commands a premium of ₹5 lakh over the BaaS scheme price of ₹10.99 lakh;

Maruti Suzuki has finally disclosed the full, outright price of its first EV, the e Vitara which starts at ₹15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This announcement comes fresh off the heels of the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental scheme pricing which is ₹5 lakh cheaper than the full outright entry-point for the (base) Delta variant of the e Vitara.

The variant-wise pricing for the e Vitara is as follows – the Delta (base) variant has been priced ₹15.99 lakh, the Zeta (mid-spec) variant is priced at ₹17.49 lakh, while the range-topping Alpha model has been priced at ₹19.79 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).

It has earned a solid 5-star BNCAP crash safety rating, a claimed and ARAI tested 440km range. It brings a choice of two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh (offers a claimed range of 543km) paired with three trim levels Delta, Zeta and Alpha – all in a 2WD drivetrain configuration. The 49kWh pack equipped variant puts out a max output of 142bhp and 193Nm of torque, whereas the larger 61kWh battery variant bumps up the power output to 172bhp with the same amount of torque.

Maruti Suzuki has ensured it has ample stopping power with inclusion of all-around disc brakes, and all variants get a set of 18-inch alloy wheels with aero covers to aid efficiency and range. It also has a suite of Level 2 ADAS features. The e Vitara will have five main exterior paint schemes to choose from – Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black, Opulent Red, Land Breeze Green and Nexa Blue as well as four dual-tone options.

Prospective customers also stand to avail various ownership benefits such as – assured buyback of up to 60 per cent after 3 years, free charging for a year and a complimentary home charger with installation. Additionally, the e Vitara is protected by an 8-year warranty that includes a 5-year battery warranty and a 3-year vehicle warranty.

This latest offering from Maruti Suzuki will compete in a segment full of competitors such as MG Windsor EV, priced from ₹13.99 lakh; VinFast VF 6, priced from ₹17.26 lakh; Tata Curvv EV, starts from ₹17.49 lakh, MG ZS EV, priced from ₹17.99 lakh; Hyundai Creta Electric, range starts from ₹18.02 lakh and Mahindra BE 6 is priced from ₹19.65 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
