CEAT has launched its SecuraDrive CIRCL range of tyres, and these are claimed to be India’s first road-ready passenger car tyres to be made of up to 90 per cent sustainable materials. CEAT has introduced two variants of these tyres, the CIRCL50 and the CIRCL90, and the prices for these tyres start from ₹8,999. Both variants of the tyres are currently available in the 215/55 R17 size. CEAT’s sustainability vision is to attain net zero emissions by 2050, and the SecuraDrive CIRCL tyres – with CIRCL standing for CEAT Innovation for Renewables and Circular Lifecycle – are a part of that effort.

These tyres are claimed to be India’s first road-ready passenger car tyres, and they were developed at CEAT’s global R&D hub in Halol, Gujarat. The sustainable tyres were made using three patented breakthroughs – a unified biopolymer inner liner which simplifies material use and lowers manufacturing emissions, a glycerol-based accelerator that replaces petroleum-derived chemicals with bio-based alternatives and an anti-static silica conductive solution which eliminates the need for conventional carbon black while retaining the essential electrical conductivity and passenger safety required in a tyre. There are two variants of the SecuraDrive CIRCL tyres on offer – with 50 per cent and 90 per cent sustainable content – and they are called the CIRCL50 and the CIRCL90 respectively. The CIRCL50 consists of 5 per cent recycled material and 45 per cent renewable material, while the CIRCL90 consists of 21 per cent recycled material and 69 per cent renewable material. Both tyres are currently available in the 215/55 R17 size and are priced at ₹8,999 and ₹12,999 respectively.

These tyres will be available across CEAT’s premium retail outlets and authorised dealerships in key markets starting September 2025, and the claims that while these tyres are more sustainable, there is no effect on the performance that they offer. “Consumers today are increasingly conscious about the choices they make, especially when it comes to sustainability. With SecuraDrive CIRCL, we are giving them a product that aligns with their values without asking them to compromise on performance, safety, or style. CIRCL represents the perfect blend of innovation and eco consciousness, and with this launch, CEAT is proud to set a new benchmark for sustainable mobility in India,” says Lakshmi Narayanan B, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Ltd.
