Geneva Motor Show 2019: Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting brake unveiled

After unveiling the CLA coupe last year, Mercedes-Benz has showcased the all-new CLA Shooting brake at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show 2019. The estate is based on the four-door coupe and will go on sale in June this year internationally. It is unlikely that the car will make it to our shores.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed only the top-of-the-line variant that packs 2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that produces 222bhp. But It is only fair to think that AMG versions of this stylish estate will grace the roads later.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is identical to the coupe till the B-pillar, retaining its frameless window design. The rear of this car is designed to maximize the interior space and the loading capacity of the car over the coupe counterpart. The shooting brake is 53mm wider and 48mm longer that the coupe and also features a 30mm longer wheelbase.

The car is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience that comprises of all the modern tech-savvy wizardry. The latest version gets the interior assistant which is able to recognize body movement of the occupants accordingly activate functions. The CLA Shooting Brake is loaded with the latest driving assistance features which are adopted from the S-Class. The CLA shooting brake gets adaptive damping System that allows the driver to switch between comfort and sporty tuning.

Explaining about the MBUX, Sajjad Khan, deputy member, board of management of Mercedes-Benz Cars for CASE and head of digital vehicle & mobility said, “In addition, the voice assistant no longer gets confused by other passengers talking, rather it only answers the command of the person who last activated the system with ‘Hey Mercedes’”.
