Hyundai introduces the 1.4L petrol engine in the Verna

Team Evo India

Hyundai has introduced the new Verna with a smaller capacity 1.4-litre petrol engine. This is the same 1.4-litre Kappa Dual VTVT motor that currently does its duty on the Elite i20. It produces a maximum power of 99bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 132.5Nm @ 4000rpm mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The 1.4L engine is offered in two variants, E and EX. Apart from the addition of the 1.4L engine, the car remains the same. The 1.4-litre petrol powered variants will be sold alongside the existing engines currently on offer.

Director-Sales & Marketing, Hyundai India, Rakesh Srivastava, said, “The Next Gen Verna is a super sedan and has established its supremacy in the market since its launch in August 2017. The Next Gen Verna with 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is the perfect combination of performance and fuel efficiency and showcases Hyundai’s commitment to provide products based on customers aspirations. We are sure this addition will strengthen Verna’s popularity and offer the customers a wider option to own and experience the super sedan.”
