Lexus has begun 2018 with a bang by launching the LS 500h in India today. The LS 500h is the fourth car launched by the manufacturer in the country after ES300h, LX450d and  NX300h. The hybrid sedan was first showcased at the Detroit Auto show and has now made its way to the Indian shores.

The LS 500h is quintessentially radical and futuristic car to look at than its German competitors. The hourglass shaped grille makes its way to the car and frames the Lexus logo with the blue hue that serves as a reminder of its hybrid credentials. The Lexus gets a sharp and comprehensive design flow, which is rather unusual for a luxury car of this epitome (It looks great too). The lightning shaped headlamps are a part of Lexus’s new design language and will be seen in many other vehicles to follow.

The LS 500h is powered by a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine coupled with twin electric motors, which develop 354 horses in conjunction with each other.

The LS 500h now gets multiple touchscreen input and display screens which have kicked out the unnecessary clutter created by button inputs. The front seats are 28-way adjustable and offered with heating, cooling and massage functions. Customer comfort have been taken utmost care of with the rear seats being offered with a 48-degree backrest incline angle and an ottoman for the centre armrest. The car also gets a noise suppression technology that promises to make the ride quieter than ever before. The LS 500h is offered with a 23 speaker, 2400W Mark Levinson sound system and a four-zone climate concierge along with other plethora of features it has to offer.

The LS 500h faces competition from the German flagships which include Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 series internationally. The  LS 500h is available in three variants, the Luxury, Ultra Luxury and Distinct and are  priced at Rs 1.77 crore, Rs 1.82 crore and Rs 1.93 crore respectively.
