Cosmetic changes on the Renault Duster facelift

The Duster retains its rugged front-end look but the bonnet now appears to be contoured and the grille is all-new. The grille looks more aesthetic thanks to the generous amount of chrome that has been used. Headlamps on the facelifted SUV look new with projector beams replacing the old halogen set-up. The roof rails too look new and on the inside, we’re expecting some minor changes as well. Especially the dated touchscreen infotainment system’s replacement with a more modern unit has been long overdue.

More safety features

Currently the base Duster RXE petrol variant comes standard with ABS, EBD and BA but has no airbags. This will likely be upgraded in the Duster facelift in order to comply with the mandatory safety regulations.  Airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and speed warnings are expected to come as standard.

The powertrains too will remain the same with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units. However, with BS VI norms kicking in from next year, Renault India will most likely phase out the diesel engine and continue selling its cars with BSVI compliant petrol engines 2020 onwards. Meanwhile, the upgrades in the facelifted car might increase the prices by a slight margin.
