Tata Motors have revealed some teaser images of the Harrier SUV. The SUV will be launched in the first quarter of 2019. The design is striking with its high shoulder line and the blacked out roof with a strip of chrome running under it from the A-pillar to the rear roof spoiler. The flared wheel arches also lend a muscular look to the SUV.

The Tata Harrier is built on the ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ or OMEGA architecture, which is developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. This is based on the Land Rover D8 architecture. Tata Motors also say that the 5-seater SUV will have the best in class entertainment system. Apart from these images that you see, Tata Motors has not released any technical details of the Harrier.

Mayank Pareek, president of PVBU, Tata Motors said, “With Turnaround 2.0 into play, we are geared to win sustainably in the market. We are proudly speeding towards our next market introduction – ‘Tata Harrier’, yet another game changer, to offer our customers a product that is not only exciting but that which will take our brand value to the next level. With legendary pedigree running through its veins, ‘Tata Harrier’ promises to shatter all current benchmarks and pave entirely new standards for SUVs in India. This is in line with our well-defined go-to-market strategy. We are excited to introduce the ‘Tata Harrier’ to our customers and are gearing up for the commercial launch in the first quarter of 2019.”

When launched, Tata Harrier will compete against the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass and if Tata get their pricing strategy right, they may as well hit a jackpot with the Harrier.
