Tendulkar's top 7 cars, a look on his 50th birthday

Born in Mumbai on April 24, 1973, ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar turns 50 today. Hailed as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar is a household name. His contributions have won laurels for India innumerable times. Even today, the general public still admires and respects his exceptional batting ability. Also well-known is his passion for automobiles and driving.

On the occasion of Sachin’s 50th birthday, here is a list of exotic cars that found a place in the Little Master’s garage.

1. BMW i8

The BMW i8, the first hybrid sportscar from BMW, came with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor. The petrol engine exuded 231bhp of power and 321Nm of torque while the electric motor churned out 131bhp and a torque of 250Nm, bringing the combined output to 362bhp of power and 570Nm of torque.

The car was originally painted in a blue-and-white scheme. DC Designs customised the car with a more sporty red and black theme and also added a wide body kit, a custom grille, two twin-tip exhausts, and larger air dams.

2. BMW 7-Series 750Li M Sport

This flagship sedan from the German automaker’s den is powered by a 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine that churns out 450bhp of power and 650Nm of peak torque. It could reach a top speed of 250kmph after completing a 0-100 sprint in just 4.5 seconds. BMW Individual, the carmaker’s special customisation vertical, customised the vehicle to suit Sachin's preferences.

3. BMW M5 Jahre Edition

One of only 300 ever-produced BMW F10 M5 Jahre Edition is owned by the Master Blaster. The 30 Jahre Edition was launched to commemorate the 30 years of existence of the BMW M5. This car is powered by a 4.4-litre M Twin Power Turbo V8 engine that produces 600 bhp of power and 700Nm of torque, which propels this machine to do 0-100 in just 3.9 seconds.

4. Porsche 911 Turbo S

This is one of the newest additions to the cricketer’s garage. Fueled by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, the Porsche 911 Turbo S churns out 641bhp of power and 800Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 in a mere 2.6 seconds.

5. Nissan GT-R Egoist

Popularly known as ‘Godzilla’, the Nissan GT-R is considered a fine sportscar. This one, owned by the ‘God of Cricket’, is not just another GT-R. The Egoist version of the GT-R was introduced as a more opulent variation of the standard model, and Nissan only produced 43 examples of the edition. This one was previously owned by Sachin and was the only one that came to India.

It has a 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that, in stock form, can produce up to 562 bhp and 637 nm of peak torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in under 3 seconds.

6. Ferrari 360 Modena

Sachin Tendulkar was gifted this Ferrari by seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher. The car came with a 3.6-litre V8 naturally aspirated engine that produced a peak power of 405bhp and a peak torque of 373Nm. It clocked a top speed of 295kmph while sprinting from 0-100 in 4.98 seconds. This car was later sold to a businessman in Surat.

7. BMW M6 Gran Coupe

The top model in the M6 lineup is the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. Powered by a 4.4-litre V8 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 560bhp of power and 680Nm of peak torque.
