Up to 100 changes on the latest Triumph Tiger 1200 XCX

Triumph launched the Speedmaster and the updated Tiger 800 earlier this year. The ‘Explorer’ badge now just says Tiger 1200. The latest generation Tiger comes with 100 changes. The bike is 10 kg lighter than its predecessor. There are minor revisions on the body and fairing as well. The face of the bike integrates cornering LED lights and an electronically adjustable windshield. A five-way joystick on the switchgear controls the screen. The 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCX also gets five new riding modes and a hill-hold function. Triumph took four years to develop the motorcycle and the bike gets the highest level of tech thrown into it compared to its rivals. The Tiger 1200 XCX also gets keyless ignition for the first time.

The Tiger 1200 XCX features a five-inch colour TFT dash, LED DRLs, engine protection bar and backlit switch gear. Rider aids include shift assist for clutchless shifting and updated cruise control. It also gets a new Off-Road Pro riding mode. The Tiger 1200 XCX comes with LED fog lamps, heated grips and heated seats. Powering the Tiger 1200 is a 1200cc three-cylinder engine. It produces 140bhp and 122Nm of peak torque. Fully-adjustable semi-active WP suspension setup handles suspension duties. The six-speed transmission integrates a bidirectional quickshifter. Light weight silencers and torque assist clutch are some of the new features in the Tiger 1200 XCX.
