BMW India launched the new 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow edition, which will be available December 7 onwards. However, only 24 examples of this limited edition 2 Series can be had, available only on BMW’s online portal, (shop.bmw.in) at a special price of Rs 42.3 lakh, which is around Rs 90,000 more than the 220d M Sport variant.

Essentially an aesthetic redoing of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, the Black Shadow edition is set apart from the regular 2 Series courtesy the BMW Individual high-gloss shadow line package along with BMW M Performance parts, worth Rs 2.5 lakh. From the front, we see the high-gloss black M grille. Moving to the side, there are the black wing mirror caps along with 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels in Jet Black Matt. A unique feature of these wheels is the self-levelling hub cap. At the rear, there’s the BMW M Performance rear spoiler, and the black chrome tail pipe.

The Interior of the 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow edition stays unchanged, featuring Sport Seats with electrical memory function up front and 40/20/40 split seats at the rear. As always, there’s also the BMW Live Cockpit Professional package, with 3D Navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 10.25-inch Control Display, with gesture control. Also on offer is inductive Wireless Charging for mobile phones, along with wireless Apple CarPlay.

The powertrain, too, continues to be the same 2-litre in-line-four diesel (shared with the entry-level diesel variants of the 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and X4) making 187bhp and 400Nm. The engine is mated to BMW’s staple 8-speed torque converter auto sending power to the front wheels, and is good for a 0-100kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Also on offer is launch control, along with the BMW Driving Experience Control switch, offering Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport modes.
