Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Italjet is officially headed to India. At EICMA 2026 in Milan, Motohaus India has confirmed plans to introduce three models from the brand’s Dragster range – the Dragster 300, Dragster 459 and Dragster 700. The three performance-oriented machines will make their official India debut at India Bike Week (IBW), scheduled for December 4-5, 2026.

Motohaus India, operated by KAW Veloce Motors Pvt. Ltd., will assemble all three models at its manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. While the Indian specifications and prices are yet to be announced, customer deliveries are expected to commence in the second quarter of 2027.

Here’s what each model brings to the table.

Italjet Dragster 300: A Performance Scooter With Unconventional Engineering

The Italjet Dragster 300 is the entry point to the brand’s proposed India lineup. Unlike conventional scooters, the Dragster 300 features an exposed trellis frame and Italjet’s distinctive Independent Steering System (ISS), which sets it apart in terms of chassis design and steering architecture. In international specification, the Dragster 300 is powered by a 278cc liquid-cooled engine. It combines the practicality of a scooter with aggressive styling and a chassis designed around rider engagement. The exposed mechanical components and unconventional front-end design are central to the Dragster’s identity.

Italjet Dragster 459: Twin-Cylinder Engine With SmartShift Technology

The Italjet Dragster 459 takes things further with a larger engine and a more sophisticated transmission system. It features a 449cc liquid-cooled, DOHC twin-cylinder engine in its international specification. One of its biggest highlights is Italjet’s SmartShift technology, which offers both automatic operation and manual-style gear control through handlebar-mounted paddle shifters. This allows riders to choose between the convenience of an automatic transmission and a more engaging shifting experience.

The Dragster 459 also gets premium chassis components and carries forward the aggressive styling and exposed mechanical architecture associated with the Dragster family.

Italjet Dragster 700: The Most Powerful Model in the India Lineup

Sitting at the top of the proposed India range is the Italjet Dragster 700. It is the most performance-focused model of the three and takes the Dragster concept closer to motorcycle territory. Power comes from a 698cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the Dragster 300 and the SmartShift-equipped 459, the Dragster 700 adopts a conventional manual transmission. It also features an exposed tubular steel trellis frame, distinctive bodywork and premium components. Its combination of motorcycle-style mechanicals and unconventional design makes it one of the more unusual offerings in Italjet’s portfolio.

Italjet India Launch: Local Assembly, Dealership Network and Deliveries

All three Italjet Dragster models will be assembled at Motohaus India’s Kolhapur facility. The company already has international two-wheeler brands such as Brixton Motorcycles and VLF in its portfolio, and Italjet will further expand its presence in the premium two-wheeler segment. Motohaus also plans to establish dedicated Italjet Experience Centres rather than relying solely on conventional multi-brand outlets. These centres will focus on showcasing the products, explaining their engineering and providing sales and after-sales support. The first phase of the retail rollout will cover Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. Other Tier 1 cities could be added in subsequent phases. Interested customers will be able to register on the official Italjet India waitlist through the Motohaus website from December 2026.

Italjet Dragster India Prices and Availability

Italjet’s official India unveiling is scheduled for India Bike Week on December 4-5, 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in Q2 2027. The three models will be introduced in a phased manner. Prices, final India-specific specifications and individual model launch timelines remain under wraps. More details are expected as Motohaus prepares to introduce the Italian brand to the Indian market. With the Dragster 300, 459 and 700, Italjet is preparing to enter India with a range that takes a very different approach to conventional scooter design. It will be interesting to see how Motohaus positions these machines in India’s growing premium two-wheeler market.
