What is the best driver’s car out there today? It’s a brand new year and we have rounded up 2025’s twelve best driver-focussed performance cars to crown the evo Car of the Year. The contenders span segments and price points: the Alpine A110 R Ultime, Aston Martin Vanquish, Audi RS3 Sportback, BMW M2 CS, Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, Ferrari 12 Cilindri, Lamborghini Revuelto, Defender Octa, Maserati GT2 Stradale, Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro, Morgan Supersport and Porsche 911 GT3. All incredible machines, but only one of them will lay claim to the evo Car of the Year crown. This 66-page special features some of the best photography and the most evocative writing out there — not something you want to miss.

Also in this issue its a group test featuring three Mahindras with plenty of overlap — XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV700 to find out if the freshly arrived 9S is the best of 9e’s and 700’s worlds? We spend time in India with the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and discover exactly why this product has the potential to change the EV game in India. We also trace the lineage of Audi’s five-cylinder with Quattro, RS 2 and RS 3 in the stunning French Pyrenees. Switching gears to 2026’s first drive reviews, we’ve got the all-new Kia Seltos, the much anticipated duo of Tata Harrier and Safari petrol variants, followed by the Renault Triber facelift — the most affordable 7-seater in its class and the Citroen C3 X making up the this month’s French brigade.

We take a look back at the AMG Experience’s 2025 season, that hit racetracks across the country. Our Journeys with Audi took us to the City of Joy, Kolkata with plenty of spirited driving on a specially set up autocross track.

On two wheels, we spent some saddle time with the new Harley-Davidson X440 T. Honda CB125 Hornet got an update and we got astride it. We also arrive at some of the biggest bike festivals in the country — India Bike Week and TVS MotoSoul 2025. Furthermore, we got a hands-on experience Hero Vida Dirt.E K3, which is targeted at children of 4 to 10 years of age.

eCOTY 2025

Our experienced jury gets behind the wheel of the 12 finest driving machines of 2025, to find out which one deserves the coveted eCOTY crown. Will the Porsche 911 GT3 clinch the title for Porsche once again? Will the GT2 Stradale make it two on the trot for Maserati? Will the M2 CS repeat the win that the M4 CS managed? Its rare to see an SUV make the cut but the Octa impresses even in this company. Three V12 monsters — the Revuelto, Vanquish and 12 Cilindri — seem like strong contenders. And the list couldn’t get more diverse: Alpine A110 R Ultime, Audi RS3 Sportback, Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro, Morgan Supersport, all vying for the crown. Read the epic 66-page test to find out which of these cars is crowned evo Car of the Year.
