A vending machine that dispenses supercars? Meet Autobahn Motors
Autobahn Motors has created the world’s most expensive vending machine which is a dream for petrolheads
Vending machines might normally be associated with snacks or beverages, but when was the last time you heard about a vending machine dispensing supercars? That is precisely the case in Singapore, where an exotic used car dealership, Autobahn Motors (ABM), has been designed to resemble a luxury car vending machine and houses up to 60 cars in a 15-storey building. The exotic car dealership was recently featured in the latest season of The Grand Tour, a web series on Amazon Prime Video.
How does it work though? Customers arrive at ABM and on the ground floor they can choose on a touchscreen display the car that they wish to see, with the chosen car arriving within one to two minutes, thanks to an advanced system that manages vehicle retrieval. The vending machine format was aimed at making an efficient use of space in Singapore, enabling greater storage capacity for cars in a land-scarce city while also standing out from the competition.
In a conversation with Reuters, ABM general manager Gary Hong said, “We needed to meet our requirement of storing a lot of cars. At the same time, we wanted to be creative and innovative.” Hong added that since the showroom made its debut, other developers have also shown their interest in using ABM’s Automotive Inventory Management System for parking services.
