Cartist to hold an art auction to fight the COVID19 Pandemic
Cartist Against Covid an initiative that hopes to raise funds for the PM Cares Initiative.
Cartist, a Jaipur-based organisation, has created a platform for budding artists to create artwork out of automobile parts and will conduct a 24-hour auction with all proceeds being donated towards the PM Cares relief fund. Cartist has been present in quite a few of the automotive experiences namely at the 2020 Auto Expo where they had quite a few art installations present at the greater Noida exhibition Centre. Himanshu Jangid, the founder of Cartist, will put his personal Collection of 50 paintings for this auction. These 50 paintings have been collected by Himanshu over the past five years from different artists and most of them are automobile-themed works of art.
Jangid, a vintage car restorer, has really championed the cause of using this as a platform to promote sustainability and create a new platform for aspiring artists. He has been recognised by the government of Rajasthan and started the 'Resurgent Rajasthan' initiative where he painted more than 100 autos to portray them as moving arts sculptures
To support the artist creating the paintings, Cartist will also conduct a sale of paintings where all sales amounts go directly to the artists' accounts to support them during these tough times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cartist not only creates and curates paintings but also has art installations in the form of sculptures and furniture, all made out of automotive scrap. You can see many of these installations in and around Jaipur, where it is based out of. It is a great initiative and we wish all the best to Cartist and their entire team with this unique fundraising experience.
